India Set To Host First MotoGP Race Labelled Grand Prix Of Bharat In 2023

Date:

New Delhi: The Indian motosport is about to get a significant boost with the announcement of the maiden MotoGP World Championship which will be labeled as the ‘Grand Prix of Bharat’.

The event is scheduled to unfold at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida in the year 2023.

According to reports, Dorna, MotoGP commercial rights owner, and Fairstreet Sports, a Noida-based race promoter, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to host the premier two-wheeler racing event for the next seven years.

The event is set to attract top riders from 19 different countries and is expected to be a major push to the stagnant motorsport scene in the country.

The promoters of the event in an official release added that “MotoGP also has plans to also introduce MotoE into the Indian racing scenario which will not only be a first in Asia but a significant green initiative with net zero carbon emission,”.

The event will also lead to the revival of Buddh International Circuit, once home to the Formula 1 Indian Grand Prix.
