MP Education Minister Seeks Ban On ‘Thank God’ For “Inappropriate Depiction” Of Hindu God

Bhopal: Vishvas Sarang, the education minister of Madhya Pradesh, on Tuesday, wrote a letter to the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur to ban the upcoming film ‘Thank God’ staring Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra.

BJP leader, Vishvas Sarang, in his letter, claimed that the film ‘Thank God’ has showcased an inappropriate depiction of Chitragupta, a Hindu deity who, according to mythology the god of death.

The minister stated, Chitragupta is shown as someone surrounded by “half naked” women.

An official statement from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is still awaited.

‘Thank God’ is a family-drama, helmed by Indra Kumar and stars Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead role.

The film showcases the story of a common man, character played by Sidharth Malhotra who is almost dead after an accident and enters a world between life and death, where he meets Chirtagupta, character played by Ajay Devgn who plays a game of quiz with Sidharth Malhotra, which he calls the ‘Game of Life’.
