New Delhi: Senior Advocate R. Venkataramani was appointed as the new Attorney General of India on Wednesday.
The appointment was made by the Government of India and he will hold the office for a period of three years.
He was appointed as a member of the Law Commission of India in 2010. He has also served as Law Member in the ‘Expert Group on Welfare Legislations’ set up by the Planning Commission of India in the year 1990.
The notification issued by the government said that “Honorable President is pleased to appoint Shri R. Venkataramani, Senior Advocate as Attorney General for India w.e.f. 1st October 2022.”
