Bali: Prime minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday presented gifts to world leaders highlighting India’s culture and arts, at the conclusion of the 17th G20 summit in Indonesia’s Bali.

PM Modi presented the ‘Kangra miniature painting’ from Himachal Pradesh to US President Joe Biden.

Kangra miniature paintings generally portray ‘Shringar Rasa’ or depiction of love on a natural backdrop. These exquisite paintings are made by painters from Himanchal Pradesh using natural colors.

PM Modi gifted UK PM Rishi Sunak ‘Mata Ni Pachedi.’

It is a handmade textile of Gujarat and an offering in temple shrines which house Mother Goddess. The name is derived from Gujarati words ‘Mata’ meaning ‘mother goddess’, ‘Ni’ meaning ‘belonging to’ & ‘Pachedi’ meaning ‘backdrop’.

PM Narendra Modi gifted ‘Pithora’ to Australian PM Anthony Albanese.

A ‘Phithora’ is a ritualistic tribal folk art by Rathwa artisans from Chhota Udaipur in Gujarat. These paintings bear a striking resemblance the Aboriginal dot painting from the indigenous communities of Australia.

PM Narendra Modi gifts ‘Patan Patola Dupatta’ (scarf) to Italian PM Giorgia Meloni.

The (Double Ikat) Patan Patola textile woven by Salvi family in Patan area of Northern Gujarat is so well crafted that it becomes a feast of colours, with front & reverse being indistinguishable.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted ‘Agate Bowl’ to French President Emmanuel Macron, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz from Kutch, Gujarat.

It is a semi-precious stone formed of chalcedonic-silica, is found in underground mines of Rajpipla and Ratanpur in riverbeds, and extracted to produce a variety of ornamental objects.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted Silver Bowl from Surat and Kinnauri Shawl from Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh to Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

The Surat’s silver bowl is a centuries old craft perfected by the traditional and highly skilled metalsmiths of Surat region in Gujarat. This marvellous combination of art and utility adds charm and elegance to contemporary and traditional ensembles.

While ‘Kinnauri Shawl’ are the specialties of the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. The designs show influence from Central Asia and Tibet, while the shawls are made using the extra-weft technique of weaving, with every element of the design woven using the knotting method.

PM Narendra Modi gifts ‘Kanal Brass Set’ from Mandi & Kullu to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

These traditional musical instruments are now increasingly used as décor objects and are manufactured in Mandi & Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh by skilled metal crafts persons.
