FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be MISLEADING.

Looking closely at the video, we noticed “19/03/2016” written at the top towards the end of the viral video, hinting that the post might be from 2016.

The same video had been uploaded on a Turkish news website on March 19, 2016. The article reads: “In Istanbul, the creature that smeared Taksim with blood bomb. A very striking security camera footage of the attack has emerged. This image, which was attached to the camera facing the street, the moment the suicide bomber detonated itself is also included. After the explosion, the shock and escape of the citizens are seen.”

Below is the comparison between the viral video and the video uploaded in 2016.

Several other Turkish websites also reported the same incident and included screenshots from the viral video. According to the BBC, at least four people died and 36 were hurt in this incident.

Thus, it is evident from the above information that a six-year-old video is falsely linked to the recent blast in Istanbul.
