An image of a 2022 FIFA World Cup (Qatar) souvenir bag is widely shared on social media tagging West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s picture with the “Qatar wants its own daughter” logo.

NewsMobile fact-checked the above picture, and found it to be morphed. 

Doing a simple Reverse Image Search, we found a report by Arabic 21 dated November 21, 2022 carrying the original image. 

Another Arab media Al-In has reported that souvenirs such as fragrances and models of the BishCup held in Qatar are being given to spectators who came to watch the opening game.

The Sun has also published the same report, mentioning that such souvenirs were given to spectators who attended the opening game at Al Bayt Stadium.
