FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.
We could not find any credible news source by running a Google Keyword Search for the viral headline. With a Reverse Image Search of the image in the article, we could find an image on Getty Images, dated March 23, 2022 and titled: Over 2 Million Refugees Flee To Poland From Ukraine.
The image matches the one in the viral news article with a slight difference in the date in the description. The date in the description of the viral article is September 23, 2022, whereas on Getty images it says March 23, 2022. This indicates that the viral article may have been manipulated.
Another news article, with the same image, on Vision Times — a Chinese news agency, talks about the vulnerability of Ukrainian women towards human trafficking and sex predators because of the ongoing war. It is noteworthy to see that the formatting, image placement, and the entire layout of the news article match exactly with the viral article.
The difference between the two articles is the headline, as well as the byline. The article in Vision Times is written by Neil Campbell as opposed to Tyrone Goldberg in the viral article.
A clear comparison between the two can be seen here:
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral screenshot of the article has been edited to mislead people.
