FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be false.

We extracted the keyframes of the video and put them through a Reverse Image search along with a keyword search and found a screengrab of the same video in a report by TRT World dated April 28, 2022. The headline of the report read: Assad regime executed dozens of civilians in Syria’s Tadamon, video shows.

We found a similar report by The Guardian dated April 27, 2022. According to the report, the video shows Bashar al-Assad’s men killing civilians.

The report also mentioned that the video date stamp read April 16, 2013, and shows at least 41 men in the mass grave in the Damascus suburb of Tadamon.
A similar report was also published by New Lines Magazine, which verified the authenticity of the video. According to the report, the video was leaked to researchers Annsar Shahhoud and Uğur Ümit Üngör in 2019.
Thus, based on the above fact check, it is clear that it is an old video from Syria and is being shared with a false claim.
