IPL 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore Eye To Bounce Back As They Lock Horns With LSG

Date:

Lucknow: As the payback week is on roll, Royal Challengers Bangalore will clash with Lucknow SuperGiants as both teams eye to secure their spot in the top four at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Lucknow SuperGiants are currently third in the points table after registering a dominant 56-run win in the previous game against Punjab Kings.

Prolific performances from Marcus Stoinis and Mayers guided LSG to put up a mammoth target of 257 runs on board in the last game.

KL Rahul will be eyeing to bounce back and get a crucial opening partnership in the match after being dismissed early in the last match.

On the other hand, RCB will be back after losing against Kolkata Knight Riders. The trio of Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell remain the backbone of the batting lineup for the side.

However, RCB needs young Indian players to take charge and back the top order. Irfan Pathan in an interview said “RCB will have to find a solution that if KGF (Kohli, Glenn, Faf) do not work then who will steer the team through troubled waters. Whether Dinesh Karthik or Mahipal Lomror. RCB’s middle order looks very weak.”

The pitch at Ekana Cricket Stadium offers help to spinners as the game progresses. The side that wins the toss will be looking to bat first and set up a total for chase.
