New Delhi: Tragedy struck on Tuesday morning as a collision occurred between a school bus and an SUV on the Delhi Meerut Expressway, resulting in the loss of at least six lives, including two children, as confirmed by the police. Authorities also reported that the school bus, which was empty at the time, was travelling in the wrong direction.
CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced online, showing the bus driving in the wrong direction and ruthlessly ramming into the SUV.

The driver of the school bus involved in the collision has been taken into custody. The bus travelled approximately nine kilometres on the opposite side of the road before colliding with the SUV, according to a traffic police officer who was present at the scene during the accident.
Talking about the incident, Ramanand Kushwaha, ADCP Traffic Police, said, “The dead include two children. Women and men are also included. Two people are injured and are being treated in the hospital. There were eight people in the car. The bus belongs to Bal Bharti School Bus, which is in Noida.”
All six individuals who lost their lives in the accident were passengers inside the car, which was en route to Gurgaon. The injured victims have been admitted to a nearby hospital, according to officials.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in the collision.
“The Chief Minister has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the road accident. Wishing peace to the departed souls, the CM has expressed condolences to the bereaved family members, ” the CMO’s office said.
