FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.

Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, NM team identified a Facebook post, dated April 11, 2022, on an unverified account. It looks like a longer version of the viral clip.

According to the caption of the video, the fight happened on November 23, 2018, in the Federation Cup of Bangladesh. This match was played between Dhaka Abahani & Basundhara Kings in Federation Cup Final.

Running a Google Keyword Search to know more about the incident, our team traced a news report in Dhaka Tribune, dated December 12, 2018, with a title: Bans reduced for Sushanta, Sabuj and Mamun

According to the report, the fight took place between the players of Abahani and Bashundhara in the Federation Cup Final in November 2018, post which two players from each team got red cards and were banned for eight matches. However, after an appeal from the players, the bans were reduced by BFF (Bangladesh Football Federation) while the fines remained the same.

A similar news report was also published in The Financial Express Bangladesh.

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming that the Indian Football Team got into a fight with the Bangladesh team during a match, is false.
