Performing a Reverse Image Search of the viral video keyframes, the NM team traced several news reports in June 2023, stating that this incident occurred in the eastern province of Igdir in Turkey, where two cattle accidentally fell into a canal. According to The Telegraph, one of the cows was rescued by villagers, but the other cow managed to travel about four kilometres in the water before being saved by an excavator.
Another news report, dated on June 26, 2023, states that the excavator machine, stationed on the embankment, acted swiftly and skilfully to scoop out the cow as soon as it reached the distressed animal.
Searching further, we found multiple local Turkish media reports confirming that the incident took place in Calpala village of Igdir province.
Thus, it is evident from the above information that a video showing a cow being rescued from a flooded canal is from Turkey, not India.
