US Singer Mary Millben Supports PM Modi Over Manipur Issue

Date:

Washington DC: In a show of unwavering support, African-American actress and singer, Mary Millben, has thrown her weight behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Manipur issue.

Millben, known for her powerful voice and advocacy, voiced her confidence in PM Modi’s dedication to the people of the northeastern state.

Her endorsement followed the Prime Minister’s resolute address in Parliament, responding to a no-confidence motion against his administration.

Expressing her perspective on her official Twitter account, Mary Millben lauded India’s unwavering trust in its leader. She pointed out that the Opposition’s vocal criticism lacked substantial substance and emphasized the indomitable power of truth to liberate minds.

Firmly rooted in her conviction, Millben stated her unwavering confidence in Prime Minister Modi and conveyed her heartfelt prayers for him. She also invoked the words of Martin Luther King Jr., a towering figure in the American civil rights movement, summoning his timeless words: ‘let freedom ring.’

In her tweet, Mary Millben wrote, “The truth: India has confidence in its leader. The mothers, daughters, and women of #Manipur, India will receive justice. And #PMModi will always fight for your freedom. The truth: to associate with a party that dishonors cultural legacy, denies children the right to sing the anthem of its country, and degrades one’s country abroad, this is not leadership. This is unprincipled.”

Mary Millben, who met PM Modi during his US visit earlier this year, stole hearts by performing India’s national anthem at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington DC, where PM Modi addressed the Indian community. Following her stirring rendition of ‘Jana Gana Mana,’ she extended her respects by touching his feet, seeking his blessings.

The Prime Minister conveyed his unwavering solidarity with the people of Manipur, particularly women and daughters, assuring them that the nation stood with them during these trying times.

In patliament PM Modi on Thursday criticized the Opposition for failing to genuinely engage in a discussion about Manipur. He shared that the Home Minister had extended an invitation for a discussion on the matter, but the opposition showed neither the courage nor the true intent to participate. The Prime Minister highlighted that there was a sincere intent to convey a message of peace to Manipur in the Home Minister’s communication.

During PM Modi’s speech, opposition MPs staged a walkout from the Lok Sabha, signifying the deep-seated differences in perspective on the Manipur issue. The Prime Minister’s words reverberated through the parliamentary chamber, affirming his commitment to justice, peace, and the well-being of the people, even in the face of political discord.
