Fact Check: Clip Of Maharashtra CM Shinde’s Welcome in Satara Falsely Shared As Fáilte for Bigg Boss Winner Elvish Yadav

Date:

A video showing a procession of vehicles moving along as bulldozers shower flowers onto the convoy is widely shared on social media, claiming that this was the reception given to Elvish Yadav following his victory in Bigg Boss OTT Season 2.

The video is shared on Facebook with a caption: “Elvish Yadav ka kafila”

Here’s the link to the above post.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be FALSE.

Performing a Reverse Image Search, the NM team spotted a Facebook post carrying the same viral video, dated May 15, 2023, stating that “Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s welcome”. The same video was uploaded on the Instagram page ‘eknath_shinde_fanclub’ on May 14, 2023.

Several media reports have carried the extended version of the same video in May 2023, with the title: “CM Eknath Shinde Satara: Fleet of 8 JCBs, flowers showered on Chief Minister, warm welcome in Satara”.

According to a news report by Lokmat, Maharashtra CM Shinde had gone to his home district Satara to launch the ‘Shasan Aaya Dari’ scheme. On the way, he was welcomed with flowers.

Thus, it is confirmed that an old video of Maharashtra CM Shinde’s convoy is falsely shared as a grand welcome of Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 winner Elvish Yadav.
