Board Exams To Be Conducted Twice A Year: MoE’s New Curriculum Framework

Date:

New Delhi: Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday announced the new National Curriculum Framework (NCF), in line with the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The minister also chaired the first joint workshop of the National Curriculum Framework Oversight Committee and the National Syllabus and Teaching-Learning Material Committee on Wednesday. Announcing the same, Pradhan posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), ‘NEP

Under this new curriculum, the board exams will be conducted twice a year. At the same time, it also allows students to appear for a board exam in subject they have fully prepared for. Not just that, it also allows the students to retain their best score.

According to the Ministry of Education’s NCF, ‘For Board papers, test developers and evaluators will have to go through university-certified courses before taking up this task’.

It also adds that the students in grade 11 and 12 will necessarily have to learn at least 2 language out of which 1 has to be an Indian language.
