New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) during a public event in Telangana on Tuesday. PM Modi alleged that the state Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), had shown interest in joining the NDA following the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election.
However, PM Modi says he declined the request, citing the actions of the current government.
“When BJP won 48 seats in the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election, KCR needed support. Before this election, he used to welcome me at the airport, but later suddenly he stopped doing so,” PM Modi said during the public event.
“KCR came to meet me in Delhi…he started telling me that the country is progressing under your leadership, and said that he wanted to join the NDA. He also asked me to extend support to him. I told him (KCR) that due to his deeds Modi cannot associate with him,” he added.

Talking about the Women’s Reservation Law at the event, PM Modi said, “My sisters from Telangana have been part of a big revolution, created history. A few days ago the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam was passed in Parliament. Congress and its INDI alliance – this ‘ghamandiya’ alliance- had stalled this bill for the last 30 years. Due to the collective power of women, this alliance has to support the passing of this bill.”
