Amidst this fervor, numerous posts are circulating on social media, offering tickets for sale, but many of them are attempting to scam unsuspecting people.
One such deceptive post claims to sell World Cup tickets through the website ‘Crickbuzzticketing.’ It’s important to note that CricBuzz is a reputable Indian cricket news website, and the post in question is impersonating ‘CricBuzz’ to deceive potential buyers.

Upon clicking the link, the website displayed the official CricBuzz logo and gave the appearance of an authentic and legitimate site.
As we scrolled down, a list of all the matches and a button to book tickets became visible. Nevertheless, our suspicions were aroused when we observed the website’s URL, which was displayed as https://crickbuzzticketing.com/. This was concerning as the official CricBuzz website’s URL is https://www.cricbuzz.com/.
Going a step further, upon clicking the ‘Book Now’ button, it redirected the user to a seat selection page. Subsequently, it prompted the user to provide their Name, Email, and Phone Number, before leading them to a payment gateway where they would be charged for the tickets.
However, CricBuzz in a social media post denied selling tickets to the ICC World Cup 2023.
“Cricbuzz is not selling tickets for the ICC Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup 2023. We are neither affiliated with any ticket sales nor have any distribution arrangement. Please be careful of related scams, and purchase tickets from authorised platforms only,” CricBuzz said in a statement.
“If you see any social media accounts claiming to be Cricbuzz and selling tickets, please report it to the platform immediately,” the statement added.
Hence, beware of such imposter website which might dupe you. The tickets to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup are being sold on official ICC website through BookMyShow.
