New Delhi Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a heartening conversation with India’s Asian Games contingent on Tuesday at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, celebrating their achievement of securing a historic number of medals.
The Prime Minister commended the Indian athletes’ for creating history. He further stated that their performance at the 19th Asian Games has created a celebration around the country.
” You have created history…I welcome all of you (athletes) on behalf of 140 crore Indians. Because of your hard work and achievements, there is an atmosphere of celebration across the country. We never had a dearth of talent in our country but due to several obstacles, our athletes weren’t able to convert their talent into medals,” PM Modi said at the event.
The Prime Minister also praised the exceptional performance of female athletes, highlighting how their achievements reflect the remarkable potential of the nation’s women.
“I am proud that our ‘Nari Shakti’ performed very well in the Asian Games. It tells about the capability of the daughters of India,” PM Modi said.
India’s contingent demonstrated their prowess by securing a record-breaking 107 medals at the event, including an impressive tally of 28 gold, 38 silver, and 41 bronze medals. This achievement marks a historic milestone in the nation’s sporting journey.
