Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force Release Pushed; Here’s Why

Date:

It has almost become a tradition, that every year around Diwali director Rohit Shetty surprises all his fans with a masala movie. The same was supposed to happen this year, as it was announced that Rohit’s OTT debut Indian Police Force, which has leads like Siddharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi, and Shilpa Shetty will hit the screens during the Diwali 2023 weekend.

However, there’s sad news for all those eagerly waiting for this release. As per media reports the director and his OTT partner, Amazon Prime, have decided to delay the release.

Bollywood Hungama quoted a source saying, ‘While the series is ready for its launch, Rohit Shetty and team Amazon Prime have taken a strategic move to delay the series from the Diwali weekend. It’s a decision taken in the best interest of the series, as the makers didn’t want to clash with the ongoing cricket World Cup. The digital conversations around the Diwali period will revolve around two things – Cricket World Cup and Tiger 3 – and Amazon is clear on not being the third choice of audience’.

At the same time, it is anticipated that Rohit Shetty and his team will soon announce the new date, most probably by the end of this week.

Indian Police Force, is a new venture of Rohit Shetty from his cop universe segment, however this time it will be in a series format and will be released on a digital platform which will also mark the debut of Rohit Shetty as a director on OTT.

On the work front, Rohit is currently shooting for Singham Again in Hyderabad with Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, and Deepika Padukone.
