World Cup 2023: Bumrah Four-Wicket Haul Restricts Afghanistan To 273

New Delhi: Hashmatullah Shahidi and Azmatullah Omarzai both delivered impressive half-centuries, propelling Afghanistan to a total of 272 runs with the loss of eight wickets against India on Wednesday at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Hashmatullah Shahidi was the highest run-scorer for the Afghanistan side, scoring 80 runs, while Azmatullah Omarzai also made a significant contribution with a half-century.

The standout performance from the Indian side came from Jasprit Bumrah, who displayed his sublime form by securing a four-wicket haul. Bumrah dismissed Ibrahim Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Najibullah Zadran, and Rashid Khan. Hardik Pandya contributed with two wickets, while Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav each chipped in with one wicket.

Earlier, Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and opted to bat against India at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
