Indian Television’s biggest reality show Bigg Boss is back with its 17th season and Salman Khan as its host. Every year the show returns with a new theme, right from how the house looks, to how the game is going to be different from the last seasons and of course not to forget it’s a very different set of guests every year.
Initially, the show started with celebrities as its’s house-guests, however in the last few years there has been a change in that front. The show has invited commoners like Manveer Gujjar, who went on to win his season. Since then people have loved this concept of commoners and celebs living under the same roof.
However, with the growing popularity of Youtubers and influencers in recent times, it is only reasonable to imagine that we might get to see them in the house as well.
As the show’s first episode premiered on Sunday, here’s all you need to know right from the contestants who have participated this year to the theme of the show.
List of contestants:
Ankita Lokhande and Vikki Jain: Indian Television’s it couple Ankita Lokhande and her businessman husband Vikki Jain have entered the Bigg Boss house. The two tied the knot in 2021.
Neil Bhatt, Aishwarya Sharma: Another famous TV couple who has entered the show this season are Neil Bhatt and Aishwarya Sharma. Aishwarya is also the second runner-up of Khatron Ke Khiladi 13.
Mannara Chopra: Cousin of Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra, Mannara Chopra is another contestant this year. She was recently in the news when the Thiragabadara Saami director allegedly kissed her forcibly in public.
Abhishek Kumar and Isha Malviya: This estranged couple are one of the most controversial duos of this season. Abhishek and Isha have worked together on the TV show Udaariyaan, after which they dated for some time before parting ways. The duo got into a serious fight on the premiere night itself, after which Salman had to intervene.
Rinku Dhawan: Known for her role in Sakshi Tanwar’s Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Rinku Dhawan is another contestant of this season. She was recently seen in the TV show, Titli. Rinku separated from her husband in 2017 and now is raising her son as a single mother.
Arun Mashettey: Hailing from Hyderabad, Arun is a very well-known content creator with over 602k followers on Instagram. He is a YouTube gamer.
Sunny Arya: He is another creator who has participated in the show this year. Sunny is famous for his YouTube prank videos. He is also known as Tehelka Bhai. He hails from Delhi.
Khanzaadi: This famous singer, rapper and songwriter is from Assam. Her real name is Firoza Khan. Previously she had also appeared on MTV Hustle 2.0.
Soniya Bansal: She is an actor and a model. Soniya has done a few Bollywood films like Game 100 Crore Ka, alongside Rahul Roy and Shakti Kapoor. Besides that, the actor has also done a few Telugu movies and featured in multiple song videos.
Jigna Vora: The name needs no introduction because Hansal Mehta’s Scoop was based on her life. She has also written a book, Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison.
Sana Raees Khan: She is one of the biggest criminal lawyers in our country. A few of her high-profile cases include the infamous drug case involving Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan. Sana represented Aryan Khan’s friend Avin Sahu in that case. She was also Indrani Mukerjea’s lawyer in the Sheena Bora murder case.
Anurag Dobhal: He is one of the most popular Moto vloggers in the country. Earlier this year Anurag crossed over 2 million subscribers on YouTube. He goes by the name The UK07 Rider.
Munawar Faruqui: Winner of Kangana Ranaut’s controversial reality show Lock Upp season 1, standup comedian Munawar has also entered the house. He is being considered as one of the strongest contestants of this season given his huge popularity outside.
Navid Sole: He is the international contestant this year. He is of Italian and Persian origin. Navid has over 90k followers on Instagram.
The theme of this season:
New season, new game plans and new themes are the mantra of Bigg Boss. This year the level of difficulty and spice has increased, as the house has been divided into three parts.
