FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be false.
Running the video keyframes through a Reverse Image Search, our team spotted a Facebook post on the official account of Popular Struggle Coordination Committee (PSCC) — a community-based resistance group spreading Palestine’s cause in a non-violent manner, dated November 17, 2015. The video matches with the viral clip, informing that Israeli forces arrested an activist and head of board members of the PSCC, Munther Amira, and a 6-year-old child Abdallah Lutfi Yousef from the Aida refugee camp.
Another article — titled: بالفيديو:الاحتلال يعتقل رئيس اللجنة التنسيقية بالضفة شمال بيت لحم, (English translation: The head of the Coordination Committee arrested in West Bank, north of Bethlehem) — on the Palestinian media outlet, PNN Network, dated November 17, 2015, also corroborates the claims made by PSCC in their Facebook post.
According to the article, Israeli forces arrested Abdallah when he intervened on the way, demanding Amira’s release. Forces reportedly transferred Amira to an army camp in north Bethlehem. It further added that Abdallah was released an hour after detention due to pressure from the Palestinian military liaison.
The incident was also reported by the Palestinian media outlet Ma’an Agency and the Russian media outlet RT News
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming Israeli forces abducted a Palestinian boy in front of his father, is false.
