FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post and found it to be false.

Running a Reverse Image Search of the magazine cover in the viral post, our team found the ‘Person of Year’ page of TIME for the year 2021, dated December 13, 2021, informing that Musk was declared the Person of the Year by TIME in 2021. The magazine cover in the article matches exactly with the one in the viral post.

Searching further, we checked if Musk was declared as Person of the Year again in 2023. The official website of TIME informs that not Musk, but Taylor Swift was named in the category for this year.
