Agra Woman Seeks Divorce After Mother-In-Law Uses Her Makeup Without Permission

Date:

Agra: A woman is seeking a divorce from her husband after her mother-in-law used her makeup without permission. The woman claimed that her husband threw her and her sister from the house following a dispute with her mother-in-law over the makeup issue.

The woman and her sister married two brothers last year. She informed the Parivar Paramrsh Kendra (Family Counseling Center) of Agra Police that she faced a predicament when her mother-in-law used her makeup, leaving her with none for going out. She expressed her concern that her mother-in-law used to dress up and apply makeup at home.

In response to the woman’s request for her mother-in-law not to use her makeup in the house, a heated argument ensued, leading to a dramatic fight. The mother-in-law later reported the incident to her husband.

The situation escalated when the husband verbally abused her and expelled her and her sister from the house. The two women have been residing at their maternal home for two months now.

One social media user commented, “This is totally crazy, will she argue if her mother or sister used it without permission.” Another expressed, “Why couldn’t the MIL buy her own makeup kit?”

The woman and her mother-in-law underwent counselling. However, the woman remains steadfast in her decision to seek a divorce, as confirmed by counsellor Amit Gaur.

She said that the matter is no longer just about using her makeup without permission. She added that her husband subjected her to domestic abuse by prioritizing his mother’s influence.

Gaur mentioned that both the woman and her husband would be called for additional counseling sessions.
