A clip showing a girl crying and talking about the atrocities of police officers towards her and her family is doing the rounds on social media. Many users claim it to be from Kolkata and blame Mamata Banerjee for allowing such hooliganism against tourists and devotees from the authorities in the state.
A Facebook user posted the viral post with the following caption:

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.
Closely going through the video, one can hear the woman say that she came from Kolkata and not to Kolkata. With a Google keyword search, the NM team identified a news article, titled: मथुरा: गोवर्द्धन में श्रद्धालु परिवार से पुलिस ने की मारपीट, आरोपी दारोगा निलंबित (English translation: Mathura: Police beat up devotee family in Govardhan, accused inspector suspended), published on February 26, 2024, in Navbharat Times.
The woman in the picture matches with the one in the viral video, informing that the incident happened in Mathura, UP.
The Press Trust of India, too, posted an article about the incident, informing that the police inspector was suspended for his actions.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming Kolkata policemen assaulted devotees, is false.
