Washington: The United States, Canada and Mexico experienced a solar eclipse on Monday. The Solar eclipse made landfall on Mexico’s Pacific coast at 11:37 PM IST in Mazatlan. The complete eclipse was the first in North America since 2017.
Depending on where the observer was, the totality period could have lasted up to four minutes. Outside the path of totality, a partial eclipse occurred across the majority of the continental United States, covering only a fraction of the sun. The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery hosted an eclipse-watching event that educated children and families about total solar eclipses, and it was a thrilling day.
Many people in the US have reacted to the eclipse while having a conversation with the local news channels. Like Imani who was a viewer at the museum while having a conversation with a local news channel said that It had turned pitch black, and they couldn’t see anything and it just looked like a black hole. He said that If everyone could have come, it was a black hole and we couldn’t see through it, because there was nothing there.
Another family who saw the eclipse said that It was a lot darker than they had expected, seeing a partial eclipse previously. Penny Williams another viewer at the museum while having a conversation with the local news channel said that It got dark all of a sudden, and it got cold, and it got real quiet and it just freaked her out. And others were so excited they broke out into song and dance after the eclipse reached totality.
Marla Wright who was another viewer during a conversation with a news channel said that she came with her friend and enjoyed the eclipse here. Many people also were excited to see the eclipse for the first time, especially many science enthusiasts who enjoyed and learnt about the eclipse.
