Running a Google Keyword Search about the incident in the viral video, we identified a year-old news report published in Dainik Bhaskar. The article titled: भाजपा पर कांग्रेस ने लगाया दारू बांटने का आरोप:यूपी कांग्रेस ने वीडियो शेयर कर कैप्शन दिया- ‘भाजपा की हालत खराब, भीड़ जुटाने को बंट रही शराब’, contains the same video as the one that is viral currently.
The article informs that Congress accused the BJP of distributing alcohol in Haridwar to attract supporters to the BJP Chief, J P Nadda’s rally. The same video was uploaded by Congress on December 20, 2021, with the caption: alcohol was distributed at a BJP rally in Uttar Pradesh.
UP Tak also shared the video on December 21, 2021, and credited UP Congress’s Twitter handle. They, too, warned against the authenticity of the video.
Hence, we can ascertain that the viral video is old.
