Fact Check: Did PM Modi Deny CM Yogi to Sit Next To Him In UP’s Pilibhit? Here’s The Truth

A video showing Modi grabbing UP CM Yogi Adityanath with his hand and pointing him to sit away from him is doing the rounds on social media. Many users have criticised Modi for not letting Yogi sit next to him during a rally in Pilibhit, UP.

A Facebook user posted the viral post with the following caption:

बायकट मोदी
उत्तर प्रदेश पीलीभीत की जनसभा के मंच पर मोदी जी ने बेहद गुस्से अशिष्टता बेहुदगी से कुर्सी खींच कर बैठने की कोशिश करते योगी जी का हाथ पकड़ परे धक्का दिया।

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.

Searching for BJP’s rally in Pilibhit, the NM team found a YouTube livestream video, dated April 9, 2024, showing PM Modi sitting with CM Yogi side by side. The incident in the viral video happened when the woman leader, who was conducting the rally, invited Yogi to deliver a speech. To go to the podium, Yogi removed his chair and tried to go from behind. It was then that Modi held his hand and signalled him to go from the front.

Another news article in Zee News India also carries the video showing Modi asking Yogi to come from the front to deliver his speech instead of going from behind.

Zee News India and UP Tak tweeted about the video as well.

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming Modi dragged Yogi by hand to stop him from sitting next to him, is false.
