New Delhi: Defence Minister and BJP’s Lucknow candidate Rajnath Singh has filed his nomination for the Lok Sabha elections from Lucknow on Monday. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami were also present at the ocassion.
In Lucknow, Rajnath Singh conducted a roadshow before submitting his nomination. Rajanth Singh was accompanied by the chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, and Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, during the tour. As part of the Union defence minister’s roadshow in Lucknow, a smooth path was made for an ambulance.
Lucknow will vote in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha polls which is on May 20. Rajnath Singh will face the Samajwadi party candidate Ravidas Mehrotra from this seat. Defence Minister Singh also offered prayers at Dakshin Mukhi Hanuman Temple in Lucknow and also offered prayers at the Hanuman Setu Temple in Lucknow. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami commended the Defence Minister for the speed at which Lucknow is developing and stated that Rajnath Singh has carried out the task that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee began.
In a conversation with ANI CM Dhami said that he has seen the changing Lucknow and said that today there are flyovers, metro, all kinds of parks, roads, lights, and streets. Lucknow has developed very fast and the work started during Atal Bihari’s time, all of them have been taken forward under the leadership of Rajnath Singh and today the whole country is ready to make Prime Minister Modi the Prime Minister for the third time and is enthusiasm among the people, there is passion, there is excitement everywhere”.
He added that the victory would be historic and Rajnath Singh has done development works and has developed Lucknow. In the end, he said that PM Modi would become PM for the third time. In 2019, Rajnath Singh defeated Samajwadi Party Poonam Shatrughan Sinha with over 6.3 lakh votes. In 2014, he had won 2,72,749 votes over Rita Bahuguna Joshi, a candidate for Congress.
