FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post, and found it to be misleading.

Running the video keyframes through Reverse Image Search, the NM team identified the origin of the viral video to a tweet from May 2021. The longer version of the video reveals that the man holding the microphone is Syed Irshad Ahmed Al Bukhari, an Islamic scholar from Dinajpur, Bangladesh. He introduces himself as speaking from Dinajpur at the beginning of the video.

We also found his Facebook profile and YouTube channel, where the full version of the video has been uploaded, dated April 30, 2021, with a title: ‘Dr Syed Irshad Bukhari gave Mubahila Challenge to Vile Narsinghanand Saraswati from Bangladesh’. Syed Irshad Ahmed Al Bukhari, a self-described international Islamic scholar from Dinajpur, Bangladesh, has issued a ‘Mubahila Challenge’ to Narsinghanand Saraswati in a video uploaded to YouTube on April 30, 2021. The video, titled ‘Dr Syed Irshad Bukhari gave Mubahila Challenge to Vile Narsinghanand Saraswati from Bangladesh’, has gone viral. Nowhere in the video, he has mentioned about the Congress party or the 2024 Indian elections.

Thus, we can conclusively say that the video is actually from Bangladesh, dated 2021, and NOT linked to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in India.
