Four-year old served with alcohol

Date:

Tiruvannamalai: Childhood is a beautiful time, it is the time to taste different sweets and chocolates, but in Tamil Nadu, a four year old child’s childhood seems different.

Two persons have been arrested on Monday for allegedly forcing a four-year-old child to drink liquor in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvannamalai district.

The inhuman act came into light through the 90-second video that has gone viral and was shown by Tamil news channels, the group is seen pouring liquor from a bottle into a cup and egging the kid on to have it even after he gestures his reluctance and gasps. When the boy has the last sip and throws away the cup, the five are seen guffawing.

Police are looking for four more men who were seen in a video of the incident that was filmed last month by one of the accused.

One of the accused is the child’s uncle. He was allegedly drinking with his friends when they forced the child to come and drink with them.

“We are interrogating both of them. We need to interrogate the other four as well. This has happened two weeks ago. We are also speaking to the parents. The boy is fine now,” a senior police officer DSP M Ganesan, said.

Police have charged the men for attempt to murder and also booked them under the Juvenile Justice Act. They’ve seized the camera used for filming the incident and a motorbike from the accused.

“It’s a serious charge. We would ensure tough actions are filed against them and they are brought to justice,” said a police officer.
