Bhopal: A trainee woman cop, recruited through Vyapam, reportedly committed suicide even as the mysterious deaths of people associated with the scam continued to rise on Monday.
Anamika Kushwaha, the trainee sub inspector is believed to have been recruited through Vyapam. Her body was found in a pond under mysterious circumstances.
Kushwaha was recruited a few months ago and was staying in a hostel in the Sagar Police Academy in Madhya Pradesh.
Shortly after the news, Congress leader Digvijay Singh tweeted: “Training Cop recruited through Vyapam commits suicide in Sagar Police Academy MP. 46th or 47th ?â€
Congress has been demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the scam monitored by the Supreme Court.
This is the third death reported in the past three days related to the mysterious Vyapam scam.
On Saturday, a Delhi investigative journalist Akshay Singh suddenly died when he had gone to interview the family of another deceased in the Vyapam Scam in Madhya Pradesh.
On Sunday, the body of dean of Jabalpur’s NS Medical College, Arun Sharma, was found in a hotel near the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport under mysterious circumstances.
The Special Investigating Team (SIT) probing the scandal had submitted to the MP High Court that 23 deceased in the MPPEB scam had died unnatural deaths so far.
Officially 27 people associated with this case, including nine important witnesses, have died under mysterious circumstances.
Important journalists, reporting on the scam, have also been victims of such mysterious deaths. Nearly 47 inexplicable deaths of people connected with this scam in one way or the other have been reported.
