NBA Finals 2019: Raptors defeat the Warriors 114-110 to win their first ever NBA Championship

The Toronto Raptors on Thursday (June 14) won a wild game 114-110 against Golden State Warriors in Oakland for their first NBA title.

Kyle Lowry had 26 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds to lift the Raptors to a thrilling 114-110 victory over the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

The Warriors were already without Kevin Durant & Klay Thompson was injured in the third quarter in today’s match, landing awkwardly on his leg while trying to dunk. There was no word on on severity of the injury.

Without Durant or Thompson, Golden State managed to hang in until the end. But a missed 3-pointer in the final minute from the right wing by Stephen Curry (21 points). The Warriors kept battling, and were able to stick with the Raptors until the final seconds.

Pascal Siakam also went for 26, while Kawhi Leonard and Fred VanVleeteach added 22 of their own. Thompson led the Warriors with 30 points, and Andre Iguodala chipped in 22 points.

“Toronto, Canada, we brought it home baby!” Lowry, standing with his two sons, said on the live television broadcast after the trophy presentation.
