30 minutes of poor cricket snatched our chance: Indian cricketer speaks out

Date:

A day after India lost the opportunity to enter the finals of the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019, Indian cricketer have spoken out.

Indian cricket team batsman, Rohit Sharma, who scored just one run in the semi-final, wrote on Twitter, “We failed to deliver as a team when it mattered, 30 minutes of poor cricket yesterday & that snatched away our chance for the cup. My heart is heavy as I’m sure yours is too. The support away from home was incredible.Thank you all for painting most of uk blue wherever we played.”

Chasing a moderate target of 240 runs, India got off to a horrendous start as New Zealand rattled the top-order. Matt Henry got Rohit Sharma (1) caught behind while Virat Kohli (1) got leg-before off Trent Boult’s delivery. Henry returned and engulfed KL Rahul (1), who was also caught behind.

The Indian top-order failed to rise up to the occasion as the first-three batsman were dismissed with just 5 runs on the board. It was the first time in cricket that the first three batsmen of any team were dismissed for one run.

After the match ended Kohli had said 45-minutes of bad cricket cost Men in Blue the match. He added it was very disappointing to not produce a good performance when the team required him to do so.
