Lights camera action ‘Phir Se’ for Kunal Kapoor

Date:

New Delhi: Bollywood director Kunal Kohli’s upcoming film ‘Phir Se’, which had been fighting plagiarism case for almost two months, finally got a green signal from the Supreme Court on Tuesday which lifted the stay on the movie’s release.

The case, which was filed by Jyoti Kapoor, came to an end with a settlement between both parties. “The Supreme Court has taken the decision to release the movie. We are waiting for a copy of the verdict. The court did not find any evidence of it being a case of copyright infringement and there are no settlement on the verdict,” said Kohli’s lawyer Raveena Rajpal.

Talking about the verdict, Kunal said, “I am relieved with the verdict. However, I do not like when same industry’s people drag you to the court. It is not a good precedent to set. We had to push forward our release due to this issue, but are now working out a date.”

The ‘Hum Tum’ fame director will be making his acting debut with ‘Phir Se’, where he would be seen opposite Television actor Jennifer Winget. He took Twitter to announce the same.
