Talking about the Modi-Xi meet, Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale said: “There was some discussion on trade-related and economic issues. And how to enhance the trade volume and the trade value.”

Gokhale also said that India and China agreed that they need to work together to fight “radicalisation and terrorism as common challenges”.

“Some of the other topics included the challenges that both countries face on account of terrorism, that radicalisation is a matter of concern for both. And both would work together to see that radicalisation and terrorism do not affect the fabric of our societies.” Gokhale said.

The key free-wheeling one-on-one meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi will take place on Saturday morning. The two leaders will have six hours of one-on-one talks and separate statements will be issued, government sources said.
