Govt must take action against fake news peddlers

Media has to be the upholder of truth, especially in increasing times of fake news. However, if someone misreports, the government must take action against it.

Anybody who is peddling fake news must be taken to task, said NewsMobile Editor-in-Chief Saurabh Shukla, adding that, it is doing damage to the country.

“Do you realise the damage misreporting can do at this time? Anybody who is peddling fake news must be taken to task. It is doing damage to the country,” he said in a TV debate on NewsMobile partner channel Republic TV on Thursday.
