Fact Check: Mock drill video by Barabanki police is being shared as a Coronavirus positive case

Date:

A video is being shared on social media that claims to show how doctors and medical experts deal with a person who has contracted COVID-19.

“जब भारत में सड़क पर मिला Corona का मरीज तो देखिए पुलिस और डॉक्टरों ने क्या किया!” the caption read.

(Translation- When Corona’s patient was found on the road in India, see what the police and doctors did)

At the time of filing this report, the above post had been shared by 128,483 people.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above video and found that the claim attached to the video is FAKE.

When we extracted the keyframes of the video through InVid and put them through Reverse Image Search, we found a tweet by Barabanki Police on their official handle dated March 28, 2020, which features the same video.

The tweet read: “For the prevention of Novel Coronavirus, mock drills and necessary guidelines were given to the concerned by Superintendent of Barabanki Police in Deva Tiraha, Barabanki. 1/2 @Uppolice @adgzonelucknow @igrangeayodhya @News18UP” (Translated)

This conclusively proves that the video being shared is of a mock drill and hence, the claim is false.
