Will Farmers End Their Protest As Uttar Pradesh Government Orders To Clear Site?

Date:

Two days after the farmer’s tractor went off course resulting in the death of one protestor whose tractor overturned, the Uttar Pradesh government has ordered all DMs and SSPs to clear the site by Thursday night. Farmers are protesting on the Delhi-UP Ghazipur border and the notice is to clear the place to prevent further public nuisance and not for arrest.

While the farmers are in a face-off with the Police wanting to continue their protest, the state administration is in no mood to give into demands of farmers. The farmers want a rollback on the three farm laws introduced by the BJP led Central government.

The farmers are on the back foot even as multiple dialogues between the Centre and protestors have failed to reach a conclusion. Will clearing the protest site end the impasse? Or will protestors other ways to continue their determined fight to emerge victorious?
