UP: Liquor Mafia Kills Cop, Injures Another During Raid In Kasganj

A police constable was killed and a Sub Inspector grievously injured by goons in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj during a raid on an illegal liquor factory in the area on Tuesday.

The deceased constable has been identified as Devendra while the SI has been identified as Ashok Kumar.

Kasganj DM CP Singh said, “An inspector and a constable had gone in search of criminal in Nagla Dhimar village in Kasganj on Tuesday. In an unfortunate incident, constable Devendra lost his life. CM has announced to give ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakhs & job to a family member of the constable.”

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed treatment of SI Ashok Kumar and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh and a government job for a family member of Constable Devendra.

The Chief Minister’s Office released a statement that said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called for strict action against those involved in the crime. “Action to be taken against the culprit under National Security Act,” it said.
