New Delhi Experiences Rise In Mercury At 34 Degrees Celsius

New Delhi: It seems the weather to get ice – cream and ice-teas is soon approaching! According to the meteorological department the national capital on Sunday recorded a maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius, which were five notches above normal for Delhi during this time of the year.

The weather department has predicted likely light rain and strong winds on Sunday night. The city recorded the strong winds on Sunday at an average speed of 16 to 18 Kmph.

The minimum temperature in the city settled at 14.4 degrees Celsius while the 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) was 256 which were in ‘poor’ category.

According to the IMD data, the minimum temperature recorded in March in 2020 was 33.3 degree Celsius which was on March 26. While in 2019, the minimum temperature touched 34 degree Celsius in the third week of March.

However, IMD forecast says the maximum temperature may drop to 31 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature may rise to 16 degree Celsius by Monday.

The maximum temperature is likely to remain around 31 to 32 degree Celsius till March 11 it is predicted that the day temperature may rise to 34 degree Celsius. The mercury is likely to dip by two to three degrees over the next few days. But for now Delhi is sure to be having a raised mercury readings.
