A post is being shared on social media claiming that Retired Major General Gagan Deep Bakshi has succumbed to Coronavirus.

FACT CHECK
We fact-checked the viral post and found out that it is fake.
We ran a Google search to check if General Bakshi contracted the virus but could not find any media reports that suggested that he had tested positive for COVID-19.
Further, we scanned his social media handles to check if he has made the announcement that he has been infected but could not find anything that substantiated the claim.
Instead, we found a tweet by General Bakshi published on May 7, 2021, refuting the claim about his demise. “To all my Worried friends and those not so friendly. IM ALIVE please no panic.I haven’t gone upstairs to Allah tala as yet. Since morning i have been flooded with calls from panic stricken friends to find out if i am alive still. Short answer – I Am (sic)“, the tweet read.
Hence, from the above fact check it is clear that Retired Major General Gagan Deep Bakshi has neither contracted Coronavirus nor did he pass away as suggested in the viral claim. It is fake.
