FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be MISLEADING.

Starting with our investigation, we visited the official website of Jharkhand Academic Council, Ranchi and found out that the website has stated that the poster going viral on social media, with a claim that secondary and intermediate exams have been cancelled, is misleading.

We also found a news report dated June 4, 2021 which stated the response from the board: “The information related to the cancellation of Secondary and Intermediate Annual Examination 2021 being circulated in the social media is completely misleading. No notification has been published by the Council in this regard.”

Another report by NDTV dated June 3 also stated that ‘the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has not taken any decision yet on Class 10 and Class 12 board exams, which were postponed in April amid a surge in Covid-19 cases’.

Thus, it is evident from the above information that the claim that JAC has cancelled class 10th and 12th board exams is misleading. No decision has been taken yet.
