NSA Chief Discusses Complete Disengagement With Chinese Foreign Minister

In the meeting with the visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, NSA Chief Ajit Doval said that “early and complete disengagement” in the border areas of the Indo-China region is necessary to move the ties ahead.

This is the first high-level visit from China after the military standoff that took place in Ladakh. Both sides agreed to continue the positive dialogue at the diplomatic as well as military level for restoration of peace and normalization of bilateral relations. They agreed to restore peace and tranquility that will help build mutual trust and create an enabling environment for progress in their relations.

India and China in the meeting ensured that the actions of both countries do not violate the spirit of equality and mutual security. They further agreed to work in the same direction and resolve all the issues as quickly as possible.

The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also invited the NSA chief to visit China to take forward the mandate of Special Representatives (SRs). According to sources, Doval said that he could visit China after immediate issues are resolved.
