Will Not Permit Any Loss Of Territory: Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande On China Border Situation

New Delhi: Army Chief General Manoj Pande on Sunday said that the force would not allow any loss of territory at the Line of Actual Control in East Ladakh.

The Army Chief said that the foremost priority is to ensure high standards of operational preparedness to face challenges across the spectrum of conflict. He further added that the geopolitical situation is changing rapidly and it is the Indian Army’s duty to be ready and tackle any challenges in coordination of all sister services.

Army Chief General Manoj Pande while talking about LAC said that the situation is normal at the moment where “unilateral and provocative actions by our adversary to change the status quo by force had been adequately dealt with.”

He further added that “As far as the LAC situation is concerned, our troops are present in a very firm and resolute manner ensuring that there is no change in status quo.” The new Army Chief said that the Indian Army is “holding important physical positions and in all this, we are very clear that we will not permit any change in status quo and any loss of territory.”

The Army Chief also talked about infrastructural development and said that “our focus has also been infrastructural development, especially habitat to match the operational and logistics requirement.” He further added that “In the end, our aim is to reduce the tension along the LAC and restore the status quo as it was earlier.”
