India Registers Maiden Win Against South Africa, Stays Alive In The Series

Date:

Visakhapatnam: India is back on track after registering the first win by 48 runs in the home series against South Africa and keeping the hopes of winning the series alive.

South Africa won the toss and elected to bowl first. India started their innings with a strong 97 runs partnership between Rituraj Gaikwad who scored 57 runs and in-form Ishan Kishan who scored 54 runs. With a settled and strong foundation, batters kept on rotating strike, and Hardik Pandya once again led the innings from the front and took the total to 180 runs in 20 overs.

South Africa could settle themselves in the turning track and kept losing crucial wickets throughout the innings. Yuzvendra Chahal bowled a tight spell and bagged three crucial wickets in four overs. Power-hitter David Miller failed to execute as Harshal bagged his wicket quite early in the game and ended his spell with four wickets.

With this win, the Indian side will keep their hopes high as they move on to play the fourth game in Rajkot on the 17th of June.
