Band Baaja Baaraat

With this romantic comedy film produced by Yash Raj Films in 2010, the actor made his big Bollywood debut, and from that point on, he never looked back! The actor from “Kill Dil” portrayed Bittoo Sharma, a wedding planner who fell in love with Shruti, a coworker (played by Anushka Sharma). His performance in the movie earned him the “Filmfare Best Actor – Debut Male” award, and the movie was hailed as a success at the box office.

Goliyon ki Raasleela Ram-Leela

The 37-year-old actor played a Gujarati lover boy from a gangster family, In this high-budget musical romance movie, who eventually develops feelings for a girl from a rival gang (played by Deepika Padukone). Ram-Leela, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was Ranveer and Deepika’s debut on-screen pairing with the five-time National Film Award winner. The movie was hailed as a great smash and became the actor’s first to pass the 100 carore club.

Bajirao Mastani

After the huge success of “Ram-Leela,” the “Gunday” actor and Bhansali teamed up again for the 2015 romantic action drama “Bajirao Mastani.” He played the brave Peshwa Bajirao in the film, a warrior prince from the other community who is married to Kashibai (Priyanka Chopra) and falls in love with Mastani (Deepak Padukone). The movie made more over Rs 300 crore in revenue globally, and Ranveer received the “IIFA and Filmfare Best Actor -Male Award” for his work.

Simba

Ranveer was introduced by director Rohit Shetty as Inspector Sangram Bhalerao, also known as Simmba, a corrupt police officer whose life takes an unexpected turn when he chooses to exact revenge on a woman who was abused by some neighbourhood goons. His energetic performance received a lot of positive feedback from the crowd, and the movie was hailed as a huge success. The ‘Lootera’ actress will next be seen in Karan Johar’s upcoming romantic comedy ‘Rocky aur Rani ki Prem Kahaani’ with Alia Bhatt and Rohit Shetty’s comic film ‘Cirkus’ with Jacqueline Fernandes and Pooja Hegde.

Padmaavat

In Bhansali’s highly-budgetted historical action movie, the actor played the negative role of the brutal Mughal ruler Alauddin Khalji for the first time in his acting career. Ranveer’s highest-grossing movie to date is “Padmaavat,” which brought in over Rs 500 crores at the box office. The “IIFA and Filmfare Best Actor – Male” award was given to the “83” actor for his work.
