Monsoon Session: 19 Rajya Sabha MPs Suspended Amid Opposition Protests

New Delhi: Amid the ruckus in the ongoing Monsoon Session of the parliament, Rajya Sabha suspended 19 more MPs for the week on Tuesday due to unruly behaviour and misconduct in the house.

TMC MPs Sushmita Dev, Santanu Sen, Dola Sen, Santanu Sen, Abhi Ranjan Biswar, and A.A.Rahim were among the other Rajya Sabha MPs that were suspended for the remaining part of the week for misconduct by protesting inside the well of the house.

While the opposition continue to protest inside the house over GST rates and price rise, the Rajya Sabha on the seventh day has taken up to discuss Weapons of Mass Destruction and Delivery System (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Amendment Bill.

Earlier, four Congress MPs were suspended by Lok Sabha for unruly behaviour in the house. The four MPs were suspended for the entire Monsoon session.

Pralhad Joshi, the parliamentary affairs minister in a statement added that discussion on price rise will happen once Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman who is down with COVID recovers and joins the proceedings of the house.
