Sourav Ganguly, Jay Shah Set To Continue In Their BCCI Posts As SC Allows Amendment

Date:

New Delhi: The Supreme Court in a major verdict allowed BCCI to make amendments in their constitution related to the terms of “cooling off” period for the president, secretary and other officer bearers on Wednesday.

With this order, the Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) can now extend the tenure of office bearers including the current President Sourav Ganguly and Joint Secretary Jay Shah.

The Supreme Court added that “We are of the considered view that the amendment would not dilute the original objective. We accept the proposed amendment.”

The apex court further added that “amendment proposed by BCCI doesn’t detract from spirit of our original judgement,”.
