Fact Check: Old Video Of Crowded Train Linked To UP PET 2022

According to a report by Hindustan Times, several bus depots and railway stations in Uttar Pradesh were jam-packed as a large number of Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) aspirants were travelling to exam centers for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2022.

Amid this, several videos and pictures of the crowded platforms and trains started making rounds on social media.

Facebook users are sharing a video of a crowded train with the caption:आत्म निर्भर उत्तर प्रदेश #UPSSSC PET की परीक्षा देने जाते हुए हमारे देश के युवा (English Translation: Self-dependent Uttar Pradesh, The youth of our country going to appear for #UPSSSC PET exam)

FACT CHECK 

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the video to be old.

We extracted keyframes of the video and put them through a Reverse Image Search. the search led us to the same video, which was uploaded on YouTube on Feb 27, 2018.

This proves that the video in circulation is old.

The same was also debunked by the Twitter page Uttar Pradesh Fact Check on October 15, 2022, where it was clarified that the video in circulation is old.

The North Central Railway also clarified the same via a tweet dated October 15, 2022.

Hence, from the above information, it is clear that the video is old and the post is misleading.
